Dr. Richard Marcus, a licensed psychologist, began his career in clinical settings before founding Interpsych Associates, a prominent behavioral healthcare company in PA/NJ, which he eventually sold. Transitioning from clinical work to executive development, Dr. Marcus has spent the past 30 years as a business psychologist and executive coach. His experience includes serving as SVP and National Practice Leader for Executive Coaching at Manchester Inc., and since 2002, he has operated an independent practice, coaching hundreds of director- to C-suite-level executives across both for-profit and non-profit sectors. Additionally, he serves as an Executive Coach at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he coaches MBA and executive MBA students.
Dr. Marcus’s expertise spans diverse areas within executive coaching, from working with high-performing C-suite leaders on leadership expansion, succession planning, and onboarding to coaching technical experts in management roles, supporting career management, and helping teams at risk of derailment. He is skilled in executive assessment for selection and development, utilizing psychometric tools across cognitive, vocational, and work-style assessments.
Dr. Marcus holds a B.A. in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University and a Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a licensed Psychologist and certified in multiple assessment tools, including Hogan Assessment Systems, CPP’s Assessment Suite, and Centre for Creative Leadership’s Benchmark 360°. Throughout his career, he has led a peer supervision group for senior executive coaches and facilitates a quarterly CEO/COO roundtable with Beacon. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of The Pathway Corporation, supporting The Pathway School for children with special needs.
